Teaching Assistant – S2 Sheffield (Part-Time, Mornings Only)

Start Date: 5th January 2026 – June 2026
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 12:00pm
Pay: 50-60 per day (depending on experience)

Career Teachers are recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to support a Year 4 pupil on a 1:1 basis with SEN needs. This role is ideal for someone with experience working with children who can present challenging behaviour and who is passionate about making a positive impact.

Job Description

You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide tailored support for a pupil in Year 4. The role involves helping the child access learning, manage behaviour, and develop social and emotional skills in a safe and structured environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
• Assist with classroom activities, ensuring the pupil can engage with learning tasks.
• Implement behaviour management strategies and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Support the pupil\’s social and emotional development.
• Liaise with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor progress and adapt support as needed.
• Promote inclusion and independence within the classroom setting.

Requirements

• Previous experience working with children, ideally with SEN or challenging behaviour.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, resilience, and a positive attitude.
• Ability to work collaboratively with school staff.
