Career Teachers are currently recruiting Cover Supervisors to work on a daily supply basis across a range of secondary schools throughout Sheffield and South Yorkshire.
Whether you’re looking for 1 day per week or a full-time schedule, we have opportunities available to suit your availability. Daily supply work is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, sports coaches, youth workers, teaching assistants and experienced education professionals looking to gain valuable classroom experience.
The Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering pre-planned lessons in the absence of the classroom teacher, ensuring students remain engaged and on task throughout the day.
Responsibilities
- Supervising whole classes across a range of subjects
- Delivering pre-set work provided by teaching staff
- Managing classroom behaviour effectively
- Maintaining a positive learning environment
- Following school behaviour and safeguarding policies
- Reporting back to teaching staff at the end of lessons
- Supporting students with their learning where appropriate

You will need:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Confidence managing groups of young people
- A proactive and adaptable approach
- Reliability and punctuality
- A passion for supporting young people
Essential Requirements
- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Ability to provide suitable references covering the last two years
- Availability from 7:00am on the days you wish to work, due to the nature of same-day supply bookings
