We are seeking to appoint a reliable, practical and hardworking Site Assistant to support the day to day operation, maintenance and security of our secondary school site in Thurrock. This is an important role in ensuring the school environment is safe, tidy and well maintained for students, staff and visitors.
The Role
- Assist with the daily opening and closing of the school site
- Support general maintenance, repairs and upkeep of buildings and grounds
- Help ensure compliance with health and safety procedures
- Carry out routine checks and basic fault reporting
- Support with room set ups for events, exams and school activities
- Assist with site security and respond to on site issues as required
- Work collaboratively with contractors and school staff
The Ideal Candidate Will
- Have experience in a caretaking, site, maintenance or facilities role (desirable but not essential)
- Be practical, hands on and able to carry out basic maintenance tasks
- Have a good awareness of health and safety
- Be reliable, flexible and able to work independently
- Take pride in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment
- Be willing to support the wider needs of a busy secondary school
