About the Role:

Career Teachers is looking for committed Psychology Graduates to join our network as Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) in primary schools across Wandsworth. This role involves working directly with SEN children, supporting their learning and development and ensuring they receive the guidance and encouragement needed to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to children with SEN, including those with autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and other developmental needs.
  • Assist teachers in implementing and adapting lessons to meet the unique needs of SEN students.
  • Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment where children feel supported and motivated to learn.
  • Use a variety of communication techniques and learning aids to engage SEN students effectively.
  • Encourage students' social and emotional development, promoting positive behaviours and interactions.

About You:

  • A recent Psychology graduate with a strong interest in supporting children with SEN.
  • Compassionate, patient, and able to build trust and rapport with children who have diverse needs.
  • Knowledge of behavioural management strategies and a good understanding of SEN conditions (autism, ADHD, etc.) is beneficial.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, as you'll be working closely with teachers, parents, and other support staff.
  • Previous experience in a school or SEN environment is desirable but not essential.
