Full-time role

Career Teachers are working with a lovely Infant School based in Featherstone, who require a Year 1 Teacher to start in May. The assignment will run until the end of the Academic year in July. The school is an inclusive 2 form-entry with supportive staff who work together to ensure the very best outcomes for their classes. This is a vibrant and nurturing school dedicated to providing a supportive and stimulating environment for their young learners. They are committed to fostering a love of learning and ensuring every child reaches their full potential. The school community is built on strong values of respect, kindness, and collaboration.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality education to Year 1 students, creating a positive and engaging learning environment, and supporting the individual needs of each child in this Primary School.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies to promote a positive learning atmosphere.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to support student learning and well-being.
  • Participate in school events, extra-curricular activities, and professional development opportunities.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant teaching qualifications.
  • Experience teaching in Key Stage 1, preferably Year 1.
  • Strong understanding of the National Curriculum and effective teaching practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and collaboration.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
