About the Role: We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and experienced SEND (Special Educational Needs) Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and vibrant team at a well-regarded primary school in the London Borough of Ealing. The successful candidate will work closely with students who have a variety of special educational needs, helping to create an inclusive and nurturing environment where every child can thrive. The candidate needs to be comfortable with challenging behaviour.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children with SEN in the classroom, under the direction of the class teacher and SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator).
  • Assist with tailored learning plans, adapting resources to meet individual needs.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with a range of learning difficulties and disabilities.
  • Help with the implementation of behaviour management strategies.
  • Monitor and record students' progress, sharing feedback with the class teacher and other staff.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to promote a collaborative and inclusive learning environment.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working as a Teaching Assistant, ideally with students with special educational needs.
  • A passion for working with children and a desire to make a positive impact on their education and well-being.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Patience, empathy, and a flexible approach to meeting students' diverse needs.
  • An understanding of the challenges faced by children with SEN, and the ability to support them effectively.

Qualifications:

  • A Teaching Assistant qualification (e.g. Level 2 or 3) is preferred but not essential.
  • Experience working in a school setting or with children with additional needs is desirable.
