About Us: Career Teachers are looking for a dedicated Food Technology Teacher for an Alternative Provision within Barnet. The ideal individual for this role will have a strong background in food technology and be committed to providing a nurturing and supportive environment for students aged 11-16 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and practical food technology lessons that inspire and motivate the students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality food technology lessons tailored to the needs of students with SEMH.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback and support to help them achieve their goals.
- Develop and implement individualised learning plans in collaboration with other staff members.
- Foster strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to support the overall well-being and development of each student.
- Ensure a safe and hygienic classroom environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching food technology, preferably within an SEN setting.
- Strong understanding of SEMH and strategies to support students with these needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
