Hours: 32.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with inspiring pupils who have a diagnosis of autism and may have additional needs.
  • Prepare learning materials, support classroom activities, and provide hands-on guidance under the direction of experienced teachers.
  • Support pupils’ emotional and physical wellbeing, helping them build confidence, independence, and resilience.
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive learning environment and adapt approaches to meet individual pupil needs.

Qualifications and experience

  • Experience working with children.
  • Previous experience working with children with autism is highly desirable.
  • GCSE Grade C / 4 or above in English and Maths (or equivalent).
  • Compassionate, patient, and motivated to make a genuine impact on young people’s lives.

About Us

Career Teachers is supporting a school with one of our Early Years and Primary sites, providing specialist education for children aged 3.5 – 11 years old. Our school supports pupils in the Early Years Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2. We use a wide range of teaching strategies to engage learners with diverse learning difficulties and styles. Pupils are taught in smaller class sizes and work towards the Equals Semi-Formal Curriculum and equivalent functional skills qualifications.
