We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teacher to join a supportive educational setting in Doncaster from September 2026 on a long-term basis. This role offers flexibility in working hours and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children with special and complex needs. You will be responsible for delivering tailored lessons, supporting individual learning plans, and creating an inclusive, nurturing environment that promotes engagement, development, and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high‑quality, differentiated lessons to pupils with special educational needs (SEN) and complex needs
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet a wide range of learning and behavioural needs
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and external professionals
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, maintaining accurate records
- Foster a safe, positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Support pupils' social, emotional, and academic development
Requirements
- PGCE and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (essential)
- Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service (essential)
- Previous experience teaching children with SEN and complex needs (essential)
- Strong understanding of EHCPs and differentiated learning approaches
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to teaching
