We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Deputy SENDCo to support the SENDCo in leading and developing high-quality provision for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Based within a mainstream secondary setting, you will work closely with teaching staff, support staff, parents/carers, and external agencies to help ensure that all students with SEND achieve their full academic, social, and emotional potential. The role may include a teaching commitment or be non-teaching, depending on the school's structure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the SENDCo in the strategic leadership and management of SEND provision.
  • Assist with identifying, assessing, and monitoring students with SEND.
  • Coordinate interventions and evaluate their impact on student progress.
  • Support teachers in adapting learning and implementing inclusive classroom practice.
  • Contribute to EHCP annual reviews and statutory SEND processes.
  • Liaise effectively with parents/carers and external professionals.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff on SEND-related matters.
  • Support the management and deployment of teaching assistants.
  • Deliver targeted small-group and 1:1 interventions where appropriate.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be educated to Degree Level; QTS not essential but an advantage.
  • Have previous relevant experience.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Show willingness to understand all relevant CPD.
  • Be resident in the United Kingdom to apply.
