Career Teachers is recruiting for a passionate and qualified Teaching Assistant to work in SEND Specific Schools in the Wakefield Education Authority. The successful applicant can work on a full-time or part-time basis.
We are looking for compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to join our team supporting in Wakefield SEND specific schools. You will play a crucial role in supporting students with ASC, ADHD, Speech and Language difficulties, Physical disabilities and learning difficulties, helping them to thrive in their educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- To assist with the personal needs of pupils including social, health, physical, hygiene, first aid and welfare matters
- To assist with the supervision of pupils ensuring their safety and access to learning
- Assist in the implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs)
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the unique needs of each student
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other staff to support student development
- Monitor and document student progress and behaviour
- Encourage social interaction and positive behaviour among students
