About the Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils’ learning and development in the classroom. You’ll work closely with class teachers to deliver engaging learning experiences, provide targeted support, and help create a positive and inclusive environment where all children can thrive. We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates who have recently completed degrees in Education, Childhood Studies, or Early Years, and are looking to gain valuable school-based experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons
- Work with small groups or on a 1:1 basis with pupils
- Assist with the preparation of classroom resources
- Support pupils with varying learning needs and abilities
- Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in learning
- Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
- Provide feedback on pupil progress where required
Skills & Requirements
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
- Degree in Education, Childhood Studies, Early Years (desirable)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A patient, caring, and supportive approach
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Flexibility and adaptability across different school settings
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
