About the Role

Career Teachers are working in partnership with a welcoming and well-organised secondary school in Sheffield to recruit a dedicated School Administrator / Attendance Officer. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator or someone with school-based experience to contribute to the smooth running of a busy school environment. You will play a key role in supporting attendance processes, maintaining student records, and ensuring effective communication between school staff and families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage student attendance and punctuality records
  • Follow up daily absences in line with safeguarding and school procedures
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date student data and records
  • Produce attendance reports for senior leadership teams
  • Liaise with parents/carers regarding attendance concerns
  • Support safeguarding procedures by ensuring accurate record keeping
  • Provide general administrative support within the school office

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Previous administrative experience (ideally within a school or education setting)
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to manage sensitive information with confidentiality
  • Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office
