Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities, SEND? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join welcoming and inclusive SEND schools across South London.

About the Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and complex learning needs. You will work closely with class teachers and specialists to help students access learning and develop confidence, independence, and social skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEND
  • Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Support pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour
  • Help create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and parents

Requirements

  • Experience working with children or young people (ideally SEND)
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, or equivalent) – desirable but not essential
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
