We are seeking to appoint a reliable, practical and hardworking Site Assistant to support the day-to-day operation, maintenance and security of our secondary school site in Thurrock. This is an important role in ensuring the school environment is safe, tidy and well-maintained for students, staff and visitors.

The Role

  • Assist with the daily opening and closing of the school site
  • Support general maintenance, repairs and upkeep of buildings and grounds
  • Help ensure compliance with health and safety procedures
  • Carry out routine checks and basic fault reporting
  • Support with room set-ups for events, exams and school activities
  • Assist with site security and respond to on-site issues as required
  • Work collaboratively with contractors and school staff

The Ideal Candidate Will

  • Have experience in a caretaking, site, maintenance or facilities role (desirable but not essential)
  • Be practical, hands-on and able to carry out basic maintenance tasks
  • Have a good awareness of health and safety
  • Be reliable, flexible and able to work independently
  • Take pride in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment
  • Be willing to support the wider needs of a busy secondary school
