We are seeking to appoint a highly organised, proactive and skilled Facilities Manager to oversee the safe, efficient and effective management of our secondary school site. This is a key operational role, ensuring that the learning environment is safe, well‑maintained and fit for purpose for students, staff and visitors.

The Role

  • Managing the day‑to‑day operation, maintenance and security of the school site
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation, including fire safety, safeguarding and statutory checks
  • Overseeing buildings maintenance, repairs, cleaning, and grounds maintenance
  • Managing contractors and service providers, ensuring value for money and high standards
  • Monitoring and maintaining premises budgets and procurement
  • Supporting the school’s sustainability, energy and site development initiatives
  • Acting as the main point of contact for site‑related emergencies
  • Line managing caretaking and premises staff where applicable

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have proven experience in facilities, estates or premises management, ideally within an education or similar setting
  • Have strong knowledge of health and safety regulations (NEBOSH or IOSH desirable)
  • Be highly organised with excellent problem‑solving skills
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage budgets, contractors and projects effectively
  • Be flexible, proactive and able to respond to the demands of a busy school environment
  • Be committed to maintaining a safe, welcoming and well‑presented school site
