Career Teachers are currently recruiting for a secondary school in Hackney, who are seeking a dedicated and inspiring Teacher of Geography & History for a long‑term cover assignment. This role is ideal for a passionate Humanities specialist who can deliver high‑quality teaching across KS3, KS4 and KS5.

Continuous CPD and professional support will be provided by Career Teachers and courses will be available through our Affinity Academy.

Role Details

  • Full‑time: Long‑term cover only
  • Start date: 2nd September 2026
  • End date: Friday 23rd October 2026
  • Teaching Geography & History across KS3, KS4 and KS5
  • Working within a supportive Humanities department.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Geography and History that challenge and inspire students.
  • Assess and track progress, providing timely feedback to support student achievement.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and create a positive learning environment.
  • Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of mixed‑ability groups across all key stages.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistency across the Humanities curriculum.
  • Contribute to the wider school community where appropriate, supporting enrichment and academic development.

Strengths & Skill Set Required

  • Strong subject knowledge in both Geography and History up to KS5.
