Are you an experienced and passionate SEND professional looking to take the next step in your career? Career Teachers is recruiting a dedicated Deputy SENCO to join a thriving secondary school in the Croydon area. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with the SENCO and senior leadership team to support the delivery of high-quality provision for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring students receive the support, guidance and interventions needed to achieve their full potential.
The Role
- Support the SENCO in the strategic leadership of SEND provision across the school
- Coordinate and monitor interventions for students with additional needs
- Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, external agencies and parents
- Assist with EHCP reviews, annual reviews and SEND administration
- Monitor student progress and contribute to improving outcomes for SEND learners
- Promote an inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience working within a SEND or Inclusion role in a secondary school
- Knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and current legislation
- Experience supporting students with a range of needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH and learning difficulties
- Excellent communication, organisation and relationship-building skills
- Relevant qualifications in SEND, education or leadership would be advantageous
- A commitment to inclusion and raising achievement for all learners
