- We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic
Art Technician & Food Technology Technician to join a secondary school from September.
This is an exciting opportunity for a well-organised individual with strong subject knowledge who is passionate about supporting high-quality teaching and learning across both departments.
The Role
Working closely with Hod and class teachers, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the Art and Food Technology departments.
You will be responsible for preparing materials, maintaining equipment and creating a safe, well-resourced learning environment for students.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and organise materials, equipment and resources for practical lessons.
- Support teachers during practical activities and demonstrations.
- Maintain, clean and store specialist equipment safely.
- Manage stock levels and place orders for departmental resources.
- Ensure classrooms, workshops and preparation areas are safe, tidy and fully resourced.
- Assist with displays, exhibitions and school events.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times.
- Provide administrative support where required.
- Demonstrate initiative and identify opportunities to improve systems and resources across both departments.
- The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience working in an Art, Food Technology or educational setting is desirable.
- Strong subject knowledge across Art and Food Technology.
- Ability to work independently and use initiative.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- A positive, flexible and proactive approach to work.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Commitment to supporting students and enhancing their learning experience.
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures within practical learning environments.
