We are working with a supportive and inclusive primary school in Waltham Forest who are seeking an experienced and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a range of additional needs across all key stages. This full-time role requires a candidate with strong SEN experience, including phonics delivery and supporting pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs). The successful applicant will be adaptable, proactive, and confident working with children of varying ages and needs within a school setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with SEN and SEMH needs across EYFS, KS1 and KS2
  • Deliver and support phonics sessions and early literacy interventions
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support as required
  • Assist the class teacher in adapting lessons to meet diverse learning needs
  • Implement IEPs, behaviour support plans, and emotional regulation strategies
  • Support pupils with social skills, self-esteem, and engagement in learning
  • Promote positive behaviour and maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, feeding back to the wider team
