Location & Hours

Brent, North West London. Full‑time, 8:30am – 4:00pm. September start. Permanent contract.

Role Overview

As a Teaching Assistant you should already understand the importance of patience, consistency and encouragement.

Supporting a child with complex Autism requires a deeper level of understanding.

This role focuses on connection before communication, regulation before learning, and trust before anything else.

Responsibilities

  • Support a Year 1 child with complex needs within the SEN provision.
  • Build shared attention through Intensive Interaction.
  • Develop engagement using workstation approaches and Bucket Time.
  • Support co‑regulation during moments of distress.
  • Assist with personal care and toileting with dignity and respect.
  • Recognise and celebrate progress that others may not even notice.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Genuine experience supporting children with complex Autism.
  • Understanding of sensory processing differences and regulation.
  • Experience working with non‑verbal or pre‑verbal children.
  • Comfortable and confident in supporting personal care.
  • Emotionally steady, calm and resilient.
  • Willingness to commit to long‑term work until at least July 2027.
