Our client, based near Guildford, are currently seeking an experienced SMT Team Leader. The business are world-leaders in high value electronic systems and sub-systems. They operate in a variety of industries and candidates with a background working within space, aerospace, automotive (or other safety critical sectors) will be at an advantage.
The SMT Team Leader will manage a small SMT team where you will be setting and managing targets while ensuring the highest possible level of quality. You will need to allocate resources, forecast capability requirements for specific projects and manage internal maintenance schedule.
In terms of experience, an SMT Team Leader with a background working on pick & place machines (this includes both running and programming) – they currently operate 3x ASM machines. There will be additional machines within the department that require occasional use, such as 3D AOI, X-ray and Conformal Coating machines.
SMT Team Leader Requirements
- Experience working within a low volume, high value electronics manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of the relevant IPC standards or ESA/J-STD (essential)
- Experience managing, leading and mentoring teams of technicians (any size)
- A background working (and programming) on SMT machines
- Experience working in the Space, Aerospace, or Automotive electronics engineering sectors
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
