This is a great opportunity for a graduate or experienced (1-2 years) junior artworker to join a growing medical technology business based on the outskirts of Croydon. They design and manufacture complex medical systems that are used by hospitals across the globe.
They are currently looking for a junior/entry-level artworker or graphic designer who will receive full training as well as progression opportunities. You will be responsible for the development and creation of regulatory specific labelling, packaging, barcoding, and documentation for an array of highly technical medical systems. Due to the nature of the product, they will require someone with a very good eye for detail.
Day to day, you will be using the Adobe Creative Suite; InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop (also FrameMaker DTP once more experienced) to create labelling artwork for their products. Initially, these can be quite simple; however, in the near future, you will be tasked with brand alignment. This role will not suit someone who is desperate for a highly creative role, as this is much more focused on clear communication to potential device users.
Artworking can be a lucrative career option with experience and offers opportunities in a variety of safety-conscious/critical sectors. This will suit someone who has a degree in graphic design or any similar visual communications area. They anticipate progression within 12-18 months; however, this will depend on your capability and performance.
Junior Artworker Requirements:
- Strong experience using Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop (FrameMaker DTP would be very advantageous)
- Experience working on print media - such as leaflets, brochures, catalogues, barcodes, etc.
- Any knowledge or experience in the medical (or other safety-critical or highly regulated sector) would be very helpful but not required
- Excellent English writing skills with a strong attention to detail
- Experience using MS packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A desire to work in a small team
- The ability to take complex concepts and turn them into understandable text and pictures
If you are interested in discussing this junior artworker position, please apply now and we'll be in touch. We will require a portfolio/demonstration of graphic design experience from all applicants to submit to our client alongside your CV. If you wish, please attach that to your application in the cover letter section; however, we will also request this during a phone call.
