Field Service Engineer
This is an excellent opportunity for a customer-focused Field Service Engineer to join a successful medical engineering and manufacturing business based on the outskirts of Aylesbury.
The role is ideally suited to someone who enjoys working independently, travelling throughout the UK, and delivering a high standard of customer service.
Operating from a fully equipped, state-of-the-art service van (mercedes), you will visit hospitals and healthcare facilities nationwide to carry out equipment servicing, inspections, preventative maintenance, installations, and basic fault diagnosis.
The field service engineer will typically be based in the office two days per week (usually Monday and Friday), with the remainder of your time spent visiting customer sites across the UK.
As part of the role, you should be comfortable staying away from home for approximately 2–3 nights per week (fully expensed), with occasional additional travel depending on customer requirements.
During your initial training period, the field service engineer will spend more time in the workshop learning the company's products, service procedures, and maintenance processes.
Once fully trained, you will be responsible for carrying out planned service visits, equipment checks, functional testing, and straightforward repairs or component replacements on-site.
This role is less focused on complex engineering repairs and more centred around preventative maintenance, customer support, equipment testing, and ensuring products remain operational.
Where specialist repairs are required, you will identify the fault, document your findings, and arrange for the equipment to be returned to the workshop for further investigation.
Working closely with customers, you will act as a key representative of the business, delivering a professional and positive experience at every visit.
