Due to continued business growth, we are looking to recruit a Trainee Estimator to join our Estimating Department. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career within the construction and flooring industry, with full training, ongoing support and a clear progression pathway towards becoming an Estimator.

The Role

As a Trainee Estimator, you will support the Estimating Department with the preparation, coordination and administration of quotations, tenders and commercial documentation. You will gain hands-on experience across all aspects of the estimating process, including digital take-offs, supplier pricing, cost build-ups, tender administration and client liaison. The role is designed to provide structured training and long-term development within a fast-paced commercial construction environment. This position would suit someone who is organised, numerate, eager to learn and able to work accurately under pressure whilst developing strong commercial awareness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with incoming enquiries, tenders and quotation requests
  • Logging and organising drawings, specifications and tender documents
  • Setting up and maintaining quotation files and estimating records
  • Carrying out digital take-offs and quantity measurements under supervision
  • Assisting with flooring quantity schedules and material calculations
  • Requesting supplier pricing, technical information and lead times
  • Supporting material and labour cost build-ups
  • Assisting with quotation preparation, revisions and tender submissions
  • Liaising professionally with clients, suppliers and internal departments
  • Supporting quotation follow-ups and project handovers
  • Maintaining product libraries, supplier records and estimating databases
  • Supporting the wider estimating team with day-to-day administration
