An established, independent financial planning firm in North London is looking to appoint an experienced Lifestyle Paraplanner / Technical Administrator as part of its continued growth. This is a career paraplanner opportunity within a modern, dynamic business that combines professional standards with a relaxed, collaborative culture.
The business:
- Circa 140 client households
- Around 25 new clients onboarded each year
- Affluent, relationship-led client base
- High-touch financial planning model
- Quality of advice and client outcomes sit at the centre of everything.
The opportunity:
Working closely with the advice team, you will support two Chartered Financial Planners, one of whom is the Managing Director and a newly qualified Financial Planner / Relationship Manager. You will take ownership across paraplanning and technical delivery while also supporting some general administration within a small, team-focused environment. You will be involved in the full advice process, attending meetings, supporting client delivery, and helping maintain high standards across the business. As the firm grows, there will be an opportunity to help build out the paraplanning function, taking increasing responsibility and influence over time. You will also be supported by an external retained paraplanner who will assist with your transition, helping you learn internal procedures and processes.
Culture and mindset:
Technical ability, qualifications, and experience are important. But attitude and commitment matter more. The firm is seeking someone who takes pride in their work, values accountability, and sees paraplanning as a long-term profession. This is an environment where:
- Ownership is expected
- Team contribution matters
- Ideas are welcomed
- Technology and innovation are embraced
- Everyone plays a role in improving delivery
- Attitude is reflected in how people work, support colleagues, and approach clients.
Candidate profile:
- Level 4 qualified
- Minimum two years paraplanning or technical experience
- Comfortable producing suitability reports
- Strong grounding across core planning areas
- System experience preferred including IO, Saturn, Voyant, Microsoft, and Transact
- Most importantly, candidates must want to be part of a team, not just perform a function.
Package and working pattern:
- Salary £40,000 - £60,000 + Bonus and benefits
- 5% + 5% matching pension
- Generous holiday allowance
- Two-week Christmas shutdown (in addition to annual leave)
- Birthday leave
- Death in Service & Private Healthcare
- Hybrid working once established
- Early Friday finish
- Flexible, supportive working culture
Hours: Mon - Thurs 9-5, Fri 9-3. This is an opportunity to join a progressive financial planning firm where paraplanners are valued, trusted, and central to the client experience, with genuine scope to grow as the business evolves. Confidential enquiries are welcome.
