Electron-X is a specialist in high-quality industrial X-ray systems from large lead-lined inspection rooms for aerospace engines to compact cabinet systems for electronic component analysis. As we continue to grow, we're looking for a motivated Electrical Control Systems Designer & Commissioning Engineer to join our team in Milton Keynes.

Your Role

  • You will work across the full lifecycle of our electrical control systems for X-ray system integration from initial design through to on-site commissioning.

Electrical Design

  • Create electrical layouts and line diagrams.
  • Produce wiring diagrams and control panel layouts.
  • Lead safety controller programming and development.
  • Prepare installation drawings, including cable management layouts and schedules.
  • Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Support procurement activities, order components, and liaise with suppliers.

Testing & Commissioning

  • Perform control panel testing and system verification.
  • Support on-site commissioning activities in collaboration with clients and contractors.
  • Ensure systems meet quality, safety, and performance requirements.

Full training will be provided. X-ray industry experience is not required.

What We're Looking For

  • Degree or HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Word & Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Quick learner with a proactive, hands-on mindset.
  • ECS card (advantageous but not essential).
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Knowledge of ISO 13849.
  • Familiarity with general software tools and PC-based systems.
  • Experience with SolidWorks/See Electrical (desirable).

Due to customer site security requirements, applicants must be UK nationals with no criminal record (Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010).
