About the Role: We are seeking a motivated and curious Laboratory Associate Scientist to join our growing research team. In this role, you will contribute to innovative research projects, conducting experiments, analysing data, and collaborating closely with senior researchers. Responsibilities:

  • Execute defined tasks and experiments within the scope of larger research initiatives under guidance from senior team members or a manager.
  • Document findings, methodologies, and conclusions in an organized, reproducible manner.
  • Co-author research publications and technical reports.
  • Apply standard research techniques, tools, and processes to defined problems and projects.
  • Analyse data to deepen understanding in relevant domains and provide insights to support project goals.
  • Escalate complex or ambiguous challenges to senior researchers or management as needed.
  • Collaborate effectively within your team and with cross-functional collaborators across projects.
  • Follow project direction regarding scope, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Communicate research findings clearly through presentations, documentation, and collaboration tools.

Skills/ Knowledge required: Our client seeks a Laboratory Associate Scientist with specialized expertise in Protein Biochemistry/Enzymology. Responsibilities encompass the preparation of solutions, reagent stocks, recombinant proteins, and enzymes for experimental research, and the meticulous maintenance of electronic records documenting these processes. Required qualifications include a degree in Biological Sciences, demonstrated experience in the preparation of laboratory reagents and the execution of molecular biology and protein biochemistry techniques (plasmid DNA preparation, gene cloning, protein expression/purification, SDS-PAGE, protein quantification, western blots), proficiency with electronic laboratory notebooks, and the capacity for effective collaboration within an interdisciplinary team. A comprehensive understanding of code for the purpose of identifying and rectifying errors is essential.
