- We are looking for an experienced
UX Engineer/Front-End Engineer to a world-leading AI laboratory science team.
The team builds early-stage research deployments and highly novel digital products that bring cutting-edge scientific research to life.
You will work closely with researchers, engineers and designers to turn emerging ideas into high-quality web products.
This is a new position created due to an increase in project demand.
You will support one or two fast-moving products, contributing from the early stages of development through testing, feedback and iteration.
Responsibilities
- Build modern websites and web applications for cutting-edge research products.
- Develop products from the earliest 0-to-1 stage.
- Work closely with researchers to understand complex ideas and translate them into usable digital experiences.
- Partner closely with UX and product designers throughout the development process.
- Build reusable, accessible and well-tested front-end components.
- Write high-quality code using the latest versions of Angular and Type Script.
- Attend product calls and contribute technical input to project decisions.
- Submit and review code through established code-review processes.
- Test features, gather feedback and iterate quickly.
- Follow engineering standards, coding conventions, design systems and style guides.
- Contribute to product experimentation and A/B testing.
- Identify technical, delivery and user-experience risks early.
- Use AI-assisted coding tools effectively as part of an AI-first engineering approach.
- Work autonomously and prioritise effectively across one or two projects.
- Enable wider engineering teams to focus on research and core technical challenges by owning front-end product delivery.

- At least four years of professional experience in front-end development, UX engineering, UI development or technical prototyping.
