The opportunity
We are recruiting a Senior UX Researcher to join the AI for Science team of a leading global technology organisation.
You will work within a zero-to-one product team exploring emerging AI products and solutions for the scientific community.
Joining an established UX team, you will lead qualitative and foundational research to uncover user needs, identify new opportunities and shape early product direction.
This role is suited to a researcher who thrives in fast-moving, ambiguous environments and can maintain a strategic research vision while working closely with Product Managers, UX Designers and Engineers.
Key responsibilities
- Lead qualitative and foundational research for emerging AI-for-science products.
- Own the complete research process, from scoping and planning through to recruitment, execution, analysis and reporting.
- Investigate the needs and behaviours of scientific and other specialist users.
- Translate complex findings into clear recommendations that influence product strategy, design and launch decisions.
- Work closely with Product Management, UX Design and Engineering throughout the product-development lifecycle.
- Adapt traditional research methods to support rapidly evolving products and ambiguous problem spaces.
- Identify opportunities for zero-to-one products and “launch to learn” approaches.
- Communicate research insights clearly to senior and executive stakeholders.
- Champion ethical, inclusive and user-centred research practices.
Essential experience
- At least five years of product-focused UX research experience.
- Strong qualitative and foundational research expertise.
- Experience working on zero-to-one, early-stage or emerging products.
- Confidence operating within complex and ambiguous problem spaces.
- End-to-end ownership of substantial research projects.
- Clear evidence of research directly influencing product strategy, design or launches.
- Experience partnering closely with Product Managers, UX Designers and Engineers.
- Strong stakeholder influencing and executive-level storytelling skills.
- Ability to use creative and flexible research methods in a fast-moving environment.
- Availability to work onsite in King’s Cross every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Desirable experience
- Experience researching generative AI products, AI tools or other emerging technologies.
- Experience working with scientists or another complex specialist-user community.
- Previous experience within a large, product-led technology organisation.
- Experience supporting early product launches or “launch to learn” initiatives.
- Experience shaping the research strategy for multidisciplinary product teams.
