CMG are excited to be working with one of the most prestigious and recognised media brands in the world who are looking to onboard a Legal Counsel, Employment.

This is an exciting opportunity for an Employment Lawyer to join a highly regarded international legal team supporting a globally recognised organisation operating across multiple jurisdictions. Reporting to a senior employment law leader, this role will provide strategic and practical employment law advice across a diverse international workforce.

The successful candidate will partner closely with HR, senior business stakeholders and legal colleagues to support employee relations matters, employment compliance, investigations, immigration and workforce-related projects across EMEA, APAC and other international markets.

This role offers broad exposure to complex cross-border employment issues within a fast-paced, international environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide employment law advice and support across multiple international jurisdictions.
  • Partner with HR and business leaders to deliver pragmatic guidance on employee relations matters and employment risk.
  • Support and manage workplace investigations, including complex and sensitive employment issues.
  • Advise on disciplinary, grievance, performance management, redundancy and restructuring processes.
  • Support individual and collective consultation exercises where required.
  • Provide guidance on diversity, inclusion and workplace culture initiatives.
  • Review, draft and maintain employment contracts, policies, templates and employment-related documentation.
  • Advise on workforce representation matters, including employee forums, works councils and other representative bodies.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and advise stakeholders on changes impacting employment practices and policies.
  • Support employment litigation and disputes, working alongside external legal advisers where appropriate.
  • Assist with internal compliance reviews, investigations and regulatory enquiries.
  • Develop and deliver employment law training and guidance to HR and business stakeholders.
  • Support immigration, visa sponsorship and global mobility activities, ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Manage relationships with external counsel across multiple jurisdictions where required.
  • Contribute to broader legal and compliance initiatives focused on employee governance and regulatory best practice.

Skills & Experience

  • Qualified Solicitor or equivalent legal qualification.
  • Strong employment law experience gained in private practice and/or an in-house environment.
  • Experience advising on UK employment law, with exposure to international employment matters.
  • Strong knowledge of employee relations, investigations, disciplinary processes, consultations and workforce change projects.
  • Experience supporting cross-border employment issues across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Understanding of HR compliance, governance and employment-related regulatory frameworks.
  • Exposure to immigration, global mobility or workforce compliance matters would be advantageous.
  • Experience advising on legal and compliance considerations relating to emerging workplace technologies, including AI and data privacy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-moving international environment.
  • Commercially minded with the ability to provide practical, solutions-focused legal advice.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating effectively with global teams.
  • Additional European language skills would be advantageous but are not essential.
  • Positive, proactive and adaptable approach with a strong team-oriented mindset.
