A leading, integrated communications network — bringing together creative, media and health agencies under one roof — is looking for a proactive, hands-on Compensation and Benefits Manager to join a progressive, award-winning People team of 35.
This is a key partnering role, working closely with the wider People team, business managers, and internal and external service providers to run Reward and Benefits processes across the organisation's Media, Creative and central services teams. It's a genuine opportunity to bring specialist Payroll, Compensation and Benefits expertise to bear on building an industry-leading reward proposition — recommending and implementing programmes that drive attraction, engagement and retention.
What You'll Be Doing
- Building strong, approachable relationships across the business, ensuring timely and accurate responses to pay and benefits queries
- Submitting data to third-party providers for benefits and salary surveys
- Analysing the current benefits offering and running competitive analysis to inform recommendations
- Managing and delivering the bi-annual pay review and annual bonus scheme end-to-end
- Partnering with the People Business Partnering team, providing expert guidance on pay (benchmarking, pay bandings) and benefits (harmonisation, TUPE)
- Overseeing benefits processes, including managing relationships with the benefits broker and external providers
- Supporting the Head of Compensation and Benefits on wider Group Reward projects
- Staying ahead of legislative changes affecting reward (pensions, gender pay reporting, commission, holidays, etc.) and proactively advising the business
- Overseeing accurate, timely monthly payroll instructions and checks
- Supporting preparation and submission of benefit-in-kind and other reporting
- Analysing and reporting on payroll data, headcount and other key People metrics
- Line managing a team of 3 (1 Administrator, 2 Junior Compensation and Benefits Analysts)
What We're Looking For
This role demands real technical depth in Compensation and Benefits, not just generalist HR experience. To succeed, you should bring:
- A genuine generalist background in Compensation and Benefits — this isn't a narrow or single-process role
- Proven experience running bonus and salary review modelling, having led these processes end-to-end previously
- Solid experience in salary benchmarking
- Line management experience, whether direct or through project leadership
- Advanced Excel skills and strong numerical ability — this is a hard requirement, not a nice-to-have
- Strong working knowledge of HR systems and reporting
- Confident senior stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to communicate clearly at all levels, including with senior leadership
Alongside the technical skill set, we're looking for someone who is:
- Highly organised, able to juggle multiple initiatives against competing deadlines in a fast-paced, agile environment
- Solution-focused, always looking to streamline processes and cut unnecessary admin
- Calm under pressure, with a collaborative mindset
- Optimistic, with a genuine passion for the Reward field and a can-do attitude
- Naturally creative — someone who brings ideas and isn't afraid to challenge the status quo
Desirable: experience within a media, creative or marketing agency environment, and comfort operating in a fast-paced commercial setting.
