We are recruiting for a HR Business Partner in a broad, hands‐on role combining operational HR delivery with strategic people initiatives, supporting a multi‐site workforce in a fast‐paced, delivery‐focused environment. The successful candidate will also lead and develop another HR professional, ensuring high‐quality HR support across the business while continuously improving processes and ways of working.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic & Business Partnering
  • Act as a trusted HR partner to senior leaders, providing commercially focused people advice aligned to business objectives.
  • Support and influence workforce planning, organisational design, succession planning, and talent development.
  • Contribute to and help deliver the HR strategy in line with company growth and operational demands.
  • Use people data and insight to inform decision‐making and drive continuous improvement.
  • Operational HR
    • Support the HR Operational Team with management of end‐to‐end employee relations cases, ensuring consistency, fairness, and compliance.
    • Support managers across multiple sites with performance management, absence management, disciplinaries, and grievances.
    • Ensure HR policies and procedures are applied effectively and evolve in line with best practice and legislation.
    • Partner closely with Health & Safety and operational teams, reflecting the realities of a construction environment.
    • Manage, coach, and develop a small team of HR Administrators.
    • Ensure accurate, timely, and efficient delivery of core HR processes.
    • Drive improvements in HR administration, systems, and reporting.

    About You

    • Proven experience as an HR Business Partner or HR Manager, ideally within construction, engineering, or a similar operational, multi‐site environment.
    • Strong track record of balancing strategic HR work with hands‐on operational delivery.
    • Comfortable working at pace and managing competing priorities in a dynamic business.
    • Motivated to lead and develop HR team members.
    • Confident, pragmatic, and able to build credibility with stakeholders at all levels.
    • CIPD qualified (or working towards) is desirable.
