Payroll Specialist – Nordics | Media Business
London / Hybrid
5-month day-rate contract
Competitive day rate (up to £50k equivalent)
A global media business is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to support the in-housing of payroll for Nordic countries as part of a wider HR transformation programme.
This is a hands-on delivery role, focused on supporting the transition of payroll into an internal operating model, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and a smooth go-live across multiple Nordic locations.
Key responsibilities:
- Supporting the implementation of in-house payroll for Nordic countries
- Managing payroll inputs including starters, leavers, salary changes, bonuses and statutory deductions
- Ensuring payroll processes align with local legislation and statutory requirements
- Working closely with HR and Finance to embed new payroll processes
- Supporting testing, parallel runs and post-implementation stabilisation
- Responding to payroll queries and supporting knowledge transfer
- Documenting payroll processes to ensure long-term sustainability
About you:
- Strong experience in Nordic payroll (Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland) or European countries.
- Background in multi-country payroll or shared services environments
- Confident working on payroll implementations or transitions
- Detail-driven, structured and comfortable working to tight timelines
- Experience with payroll and HR systems (e.g. Workday, ADP or similar)
