We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join a children’s residential home in St Helens. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Residential Support Worker or existing Deputy Manager who is passionate about providing high-quality care and support to children and young people.
The Role: Working alongside the Registered Manager, you will help oversee the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring high standards of care, safeguarding and compliance are consistently maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Registered Manager with the daily operation of the home
- Lead, supervise and support residential care staff
- Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations and safeguarding standards
- Assist with staff supervision, appraisals and performance management
- Support care planning, risk assessments and placement reviews
- Maintain accurate records and reports
- Promote positive outcomes for children and young people
- Assist with recruitment, training and staff development
- Deputise for the Registered Manager when required
- Participate in the on-call rota
Requirements:
- Previous experience within children’s residential care
- Experience in a senior or leadership role preferred
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and childcare legislation
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle
