A leading UK construction contractor is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team on a chemical/industrial building refurbishment project based in Manchester City Centre. This is a technically demanding project within a live or controlled environment, offering an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor who enjoys complex refurbishments and detailed commercial management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Commercial management of a chemical building refurbishment project
  • Preparation and management of cost plans, budgets, and forecasts
  • Procurement and management of subcontract packages
  • Valuation of works, interim applications, and final accounts
  • Assessment and agreement of variations and change control
  • Cost reporting and financial risk management
  • Working closely with the Project Manager and site team
  • Ensuring commercial compliance with contract terms and company procedures

About You:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction or refurbishment projects
  • Experience in industrial, chemical, pharmaceutical, or high-risk environments is highly advantageous
  • Strong knowledge of standard forms of contract (e.g. JCT)
  • Excellent numerical, analytical, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, city-centre project environment
  • Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management preferred
