A leading UK construction contractor is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team on a chemical/industrial building refurbishment project based in Manchester City Centre. This is a technically demanding project within a live or controlled environment, offering an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor who enjoys complex refurbishments and detailed commercial management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Commercial management of a chemical building refurbishment project
- Preparation and management of cost plans, budgets, and forecasts
- Procurement and management of subcontract packages
- Valuation of works, interim applications, and final accounts
- Assessment and agreement of variations and change control
- Cost reporting and financial risk management
- Working closely with the Project Manager and site team
- Ensuring commercial compliance with contract terms and company procedures
About You:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction or refurbishment projects
- Experience in industrial, chemical, pharmaceutical, or high-risk environments is highly advantageous
- Strong knowledge of standard forms of contract (e.g. JCT)
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and negotiation skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, city-centre project environment
- Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management preferred
