A well-established UK construction contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the refurbishment of a chemical/industrial building in Manchester City Centre. This is a technically challenging project requiring strong leadership, excellent stakeholder management, and a robust approach to health, safety, and compliance.

You will take full responsibility for the successful delivery of the project, from pre-construction through to handover, ensuring it is completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Overall project management of a live chemical building refurbishment
  • Planning, programming, and coordination of site activities
  • Managing subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants
  • Ensuring strict adherence to HSE regulations, particularly within a chemical/industrial environment
  • Controlling budgets, forecasting costs, and managing variations
  • Liaising with clients, design teams, and internal stakeholders
  • Monitoring quality, progress, and risk throughout the project lifecycle
  • Leading site teams and promoting a strong safety culture
About You:
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager within construction or refurbishment projects
  • Previous experience working on industrial, chemical, or high-risk environments is highly desirable
  • Strong knowledge of UK construction processes, CDM regulations, and H&S standards
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders in a busy city-centre location
  • SMSTS, CSCS (Black or Gold), and relevant construction qualifications preferred
