Class 2 Tipper Driver – Irlam

Careermakers Recruitment is currently recruiting experienced Class 2 Tipper Drivers on behalf of a well-established client based in the Irlam area. This is an excellent opportunity for drivers with muck-away experience who are looking for regular weekday work, competitive pay, and no handballing. You will be joining a growing and professional team committed to delivering reliable and efficient transport solutions across the UK.

Pay Rate: £18.50 per hour (CIS)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a Class 2 tipper vehicle transporting materials such as aggregates, sand, and gravel
  • Safely load and unload using the vehicle’s tipping mechanism (no manual handling)
  • Complete deliveries efficiently and on time across designated routes
  • Carry out daily pre- and post-use vehicle checks and report any defects
  • Communicate effectively with the transport team regarding routes and site updates
  • Maintain accurate delivery paperwork and vehicle condition reports
  • Adhere to all road safety regulations, transport legislation, and company policies

Requirements:

  • Proven muck-away experience (essential)
  • Valid Class 2 (Category C) driving licence
  • Up-to-date CPC and Digital Tachograph card
  • Minimum of 2 years’ Class 2 driving experience (insurance requirement)
  • Good knowledge of UK road networks and driving regulations
  • Professional, punctual, and safety-focused attitude
  • No more than 6 penalty points (no major convictions)
