An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and values-driven Registered Manager to lead a growing Community Complex Care Service in Durham. You will oversee the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care within individuals’ homes, supporting people with a wide range of needs including complex and clinical care, autism, challenging behaviour, and mental health. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will manage day-to-day operations, develop teams, and ensure positive outcomes for the people supported. It is ideally suited to a strong, compassionate leader who is passionate about making a difference and supporting both individuals and teams to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of community-based care services
- Ensure compliance with CQC, Ofsted, and organisational policies and procedures
- Line manage care staff and nurses, providing leadership, supervision, and support
- Support safeguarding and promote the welfare and development of individuals
- Oversee care planning, risk assessments, and person-centred delivery
- Manage and participate in the on-call rota (paid separately)
- Lead on audits, complaints, investigations, and quality assurance
- Support the smooth transition and onboarding of new care packages
- Conduct supervisions, appraisals, and team meetings
- Drive team performance, development, and continuous improvement
- Build strong relationships with families, commissioners, and professionals
Requirements
- Level 5 qualification in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards)
- Minimum 2 years’ management experience (or strong senior/team leader ready to step up)
- Experience supporting individuals with autism, mental health, and complex needs
- Understanding of trauma-informed care and positive behaviour support
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Patient, resilient, and passionate about delivering high-quality care
