Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week (including days, evenings, nights, weekends, bank holidays, sleep-ins, and lone working)

About the Role

We’re looking for a caring, confident, and motivated Deputy Manager to join our team in Leyland. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the lives of children and young people, supporting them to grow, achieve, and thrive in a safe and nurturing environment. As Deputy Manager, you’ll work closely with the Registered Manager and Assistant Manager to make sure the home runs smoothly day to day. You’ll lead by example, support staff development, and ensure high standards of care that meet Ofsted regulations and put young people at the heart of everything we do. Our goal is simple – to create a home where young people feel valued, supported, and have every opportunity to reach their potential.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting the Registered Manager with the daily running of the home and staff team.
  • Helping to recruit, train, and supervise staff to deliver excellent care and support.
  • Developing and reviewing care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour management strategies.
  • Managing budgets, petty cash, and administrative tasks.
  • Leading by example to create a warm, inclusive, and positive home environment.
  • Promoting safeguarding and ensuring all policies and procedures are followed.
  • Building strong relationships with young people, their families, schools, and other professionals.
  • Acting as Deputy in the Manager’s absence and taking part in the on-call rota.

About You

  • Experienced in children’s residential care (ideally 2 years or more).
  • Qualified to or working towards Level 3 or Level 5 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • A natural leader who can motivate and support others.
  • Confident in understanding Ofsted regulations and safeguarding responsibilities.
  • Compassionate, resilient, and passionate about helping young people achieve great outcomes.
  • Flexible and happy to work shifts, including sleep-ins and weekends.
