We are expanding our team and are looking for experienced Mobile Plant / Machine Operators to join our busy and growing operation in Bolton (BL6). This is an excellent opportunity for reliable, skilled operators who are comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Location: Bolton, BL6
Hours:
- Monday to Friday: 7:00am – 5:30pm (47.5 hours per week)
- 1 in 2 Saturdays: 7:00am – 12:00pm
Pay Rate: £13.50 – £14.00 per hour (depending on experience)
Role Responsibilities:
- Operate a variety of mobile plant machinery, including loading shovels and 360° grabs, as instructed and in line with training
- Complete daily assigned work schedules
- Carry out daily recorded checks and basic maintenance to ensure machinery is safe and operational
- Load various waste streams and grades into correct bays and processing areas to maximise recycling and recovery
- Inspect incoming loads to ensure compliance with site licence and permitted waste types
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, and site housekeeping
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience operating a loading shovel and/or 360° grab
- Willingness to train on additional machinery
- Mobile Plant Operator Card or Certificate of Basic Training (desirable)
- Previous experience in the waste or recycling industry (advantageous)
- Basic understanding of health and safety in an industrial or processing environment
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume operation
