My client, a leading global law firm, is looking to hire an experienced HR Adviser to join its high-performing HR Advisory team. This permanent position reports into an HR Manager and plays a key role in delivering a proactive, high-quality HR service across both legal and business services populations. You will support senior stakeholders and contribute to the development and delivery of people strategies that drive organisational success. Working closely with specialist HR teams—including Recruitment, Early Careers, Diversity & Inclusion, Reward, and HR Systems—you will help ensure an integrated and impactful HR offering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with HR Managers to deliver a comprehensive HR service across the full employee lifecycle.
  • Act as a trusted adviser to senior stakeholders, providing pragmatic and commercially focused HR guidance.
  • Manage employee relations matters end-to-end, including probation, absence, wellbeing, performance, disciplinaries and grievances.
  • Handle cases independently, while supporting more complex matters alongside senior HR colleagues.
  • Manage flexible working requests and contractual changes from start to finish.
  • Oversee family leave processes, supporting employees and managers throughout.
  • Support performance review processes, ensuring consistency and effective outcomes.
  • Manage fixed-term contracts and contractor arrangements.
  • Conduct exit interviews and analyse feedback to inform people initiatives.

Data, Systems & Projects

  • Analyse HR data and trends to support evidence-based decision-making.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and manage HR systems (e.g. Workday or similar).
  • Support internal mobility, secondments, and global movement processes where required.
  • Contribute to HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work closely with HR colleagues to deliver a seamless and consistent service.
  • Keep up to date with employment law and market trends, making recommendations for improvement.

Candidate Profile

  • Experience in an HR Advisory role within a professional services environment.
  • CIPD qualification (or working towards).
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • Experience using HR systems and producing management information (Workday or similar desirable).
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • A proactive, organised approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong analytical capability and attention to detail.
  • High levels of professionalism, integrity, and discretion.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
