This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Research or Information Services professional to take ownership of a well-established team while driving innovation, service development and the firm's research strategy.
It's a hands-on leadership role where you'll combine people management with delivering high-quality legal, business and market research to stakeholders across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor and develop the Research & Information Services team.
- Drive the firm's research and information strategy, identifying opportunities to improve and modernise services.
- Oversee the delivery of legal, business and market research across the firm.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver commercially focused insights.
- Manage research resources, supplier relationships and library budgets.
- Evaluate and implement new research technologies, including AI-enabled tools.
- Develop and deliver research skills training across the business.
- Monitor KPIs, analyse service performance and drive continuous improvement.
- Act as the senior point of contact for research and information services across the firm.
Requirements
- Significant experience within a legal or professional services research environment.
- Previous experience leading and developing a team.
- Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and experience managing research resources and external suppliers.
- A track record of improving services and driving innovation.
- Experience with AI-powered research tools and emerging technologies.
- The ability to translate research into clear, commercially valuable insights.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills.
Experience supporting international teams or holding a qualification in Library, Information or Knowledge Management would be advantageous but isn't essential.
