We are currently partnered with a globally recognised law firm and their London office. This firm is seeking an experienced England & Wales (or equivalent) Qualified Lawyer to join its Office of General Counsel – working as a Data Protection Lawyer/Assistant General Counsel.

You’ll support the firm’s Global Data Protection Director and be part of The Data Protection Counsel – delivering the firm’s data privacy strategy and ensuring compliance with both legal and regulatory obligations across the firm (UK and internationally).

As the successful Data Protection Lawyer, you’ll be responsible for (but not limited to) the following:

  • Advising on day to day privacy queries from Partners, Lawyers and support staff
  • Supporting the coordination of data protection impact assessments
  • Supporting the GDPD in the implementation of data privacy strategies and compliance initiatives
  • Advising on international data transfers across all offices
  • Advising on data protection implications of AI systems
  • Fostering a culture of data protection awareness and designing/delivering training
  • Assisting with the review and negotiation of client/vendor contracts to ensure appropriate data protection provisions

To be considered for this opportunity, you’ll need to be/have the following:

  • Be an England & Wales (or equivalent) Qualified Lawyer (essential)
  • Have a minimum of 3 years’ post-qualification experience, from a law firm (essential)
  • Have a recognised data privacy qualification (desirable)
