Patent Administrator
London, UK

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Patent Administrator to join a dynamic and respected team in the London office. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting fee earners and clients across a wide variety of patent matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and processing standard and ad hoc correspondence related to patent matters
- Drafting and amending letters, emails and specifications as instructed
- Managing deadlines, formalities and filings for UK, EP and international patent applications
- Using Inprotech and other systems to maintain accurate electronic records
- Actioning incoming communications including updates from the EPO mailbox
- Supporting validation of granted patents and handling related documentation
- Monitoring, updating and clearing due dates and key deadlines
- Preparing and submitting invoices, credit notes and WIP adjustments
- Updating client databases and assisting with client reporting requirements
- Providing administrative support such as arranging meetings and managing diaries for fee earners
- Liaising with clients and overseas attorneys when required
Skills and Experience Required
- At least 3 to 4 years’ experience working in a patent administration or formalities role
- CIPA Certificate in Patent Administration (essential)
- Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail
- Proficient with Inprotech or other IP records systems
- Able to manage multiple deadlines with minimal supervision
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with a proactive and professional manner
- IT literate with sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths as a minimum; A-levels or higher education desirable
