This client is an international law firm employing 700 staff across six office locations, ranging from Hong Kong to London. They are now looking to hire a Management Accountant in their London office. The Management Accountant reports to the Finance Manager and supports the London-based accounting team headed by the Financial Controller. Its tactical responsibilities feed one larger objective: responsibility for the provision of finance and administration support to the London and Jersey Law Firms.
Responsibilities
- Month-end reporting β Preparation of Management Accounts including posting of journals, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets etc.
- Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Overseeing supplier invoice process - coding/approvals
- VAT/GST return preparation
- ONS returns preparation
- Year end audit β support to provide core data, and pull together samples for auditors
- Corporation tax β assist in pulling together supporting analysis
- PSA preparation
- Client Account responsibilities in line with Solicitor Accounts Rules (SAR)
- Provide cover for billing during busy periods/annual leave
- Assist Junior Accounts Assistant as required with their work and in dealing with queries
Candidate Profile
- We are seeking a part qualified accountant or newly qualified accountant who is working towards/holds one of the following designations (CPA, ACA, ACMA, CIMA or ACCA)
- Previous experience in preparing Management Accounts is essential, including prepayments and accruals
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship management skills are necessary, as is the ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required
- Good team working skills and experience in assisting team members is desirable
- Understanding of Solicitor Accounts Rules is desirable
