My client, a leading international law firm with an exceptional reputation, is looking to hire a Senior Recruitment Manager for their Belfast office. This role would suit someone based in or near Belfast, or equally someone located in Manchester, Birmingham, or Leeds who is open to commuting on a hybrid basis. This is a senior, high-impact role within a global People function, responsible for leading Business Professional recruitment across multiple locations and service lines.

The successful candidate will manage and deliver end-to-end recruitment strategies, overseeing a geographically dispersed team of recruitment managers, specialists, and coordinators. The focus is on driving a best-in-class hiring experience while aligning recruitment activity with workforce planning priorities and business objectives. A strong emphasis will be placed on developing direct sourcing capability, improving hiring efficiency, and reducing reliance on external agencies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead full-cycle Business Professional recruitment across multiple offices and delivery centres, ensuring alignment with workforce planning and operational priorities.
  • Develop and execute scalable, multi-region hiring strategies across a wide range of business functions.
  • Standardise recruitment processes to drive efficiency and enhance candidate and hiring manager experience.
  • Build and embed a direct sourcing capability, reducing agency reliance and overall recruitment costs.
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation, internal policy, and governance frameworks across jurisdictions.
  • Act as a key interface with workforce planning teams, managing role releases and allocation across the recruitment team.
  • Define, track, and report on key recruitment metrics (e.g. time-to-hire, direct sourcing ratios, cost savings, offer acceptance rates).
  • Build strong relationships with functional leaders, providing insight-led hiring strategies aligned to business needs.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to deliver hiring for senior and critical roles (Manager level and above).
  • Champion inclusive hiring practices, building diverse talent pipelines across markets.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the business, providing expert insight and market intelligence.
  • Drive collaboration across regional and global recruitment teams to ensure consistency and best practice.
  • Leverage recruitment technology and AI-driven sourcing tools to enhance hiring effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Manage agency relationships and supplier terms, ensuring commercial value and governance.
  • Contribute to employer branding strategies, including social media and external talent engagement campaigns.
  • Drive continuous improvement across recruitment processes, tools, and ways of working.
  • Support broader recruitment projects and strategic initiatives as required.

You will sit within a global People function responsible for attracting, developing, and retaining talent across both legal and business services populations. The wider function includes expertise across Talent Management, Recruitment & Mobility, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Learning & Development, Performance & Careers, and Reward. You will work closely with regional and global stakeholders, including senior leadership, HR colleagues, and workforce planning teams.

About You:
  • Extensive experience in talent acquisition within a professional services or law firm environment.
  • Proven track record recruiting across Business Professional functions (e.g. Finance, HR, IT, Marketing, Operations).
  • Experience leading, coaching, and developing high-performing recruitment teams.
  • Strong international recruitment experience, including knowledge of global hiring practices and compliance.
  • Demonstrable success in building and delivering direct sourcing strategies.
  • Experience with workforce planning, recruitment analytics, and ATS platforms (ideally Avature).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at senior level.
  • Commercially minded, with a data-driven and solutions-focused approach.
  • Experience operating in a fast-paced, complex, and matrixed environment.
  • High levels of initiative, resilience, and accountability.
  • Strong judgement and the ability to manage sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy.
