Their legal function plays a pivotal role in supporting strategic growth, regulatory compliance, and commercial success across the UK and beyond. Due to expansion, they are looking to hire a Legal Counsel to support contentious and advisory work across a range of legal entities.
This role will include working on strategic projects, distribution contracts, underwriting, wordings, reinsurance, service contracts, regulatory and compliance support.
Overview:- Support and advise the business on non-claims litigation, ECO claims, investigations and other contentious matters
- Provide advice on (re)insurance law issues across the group globally including wordings, delegation and distribution contracts
- Work with and support Compliance on regulatory matters and complex sanctions underwriting and claims issues
- Advise on litigation, coverage issues and investigations across international business lines
- Draft and negotiate intra-group and third-party commercial contracts
- Provide legal updates and assist in managing external counsel when needed
- Engage in product development, regulatory horizon scanning, and internal legal education
- Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) 4+PQE, ideally with litigation or insurance coverage background
- Familiarity with the Lloyd’s Market or wider specialty insurance landscape
- Effective communicator with strong drafting and research capabilities
- Committed to delivering commercially relevant, risk-aware legal advice
