Our client, a top UK law firm with offices across the UK, is actively recruiting for an experienced Legal Risk & Compliance professional to join them on a permanent basis in either their Leeds or Birmingham office.

Working closely with the Head of Compliance and additional members of the Risk & Compliance team, you will be ensuring the firm operates within its strict legal and regulatory boundaries at all times. As the successful Compliance Advisor, you will be responsible for (but not limited to) the following:

  • Advising on SRA standards and regulations
  • Reviewing client AML and due diligence
  • Producing AML and due diligence advice across various clients
  • Assisting with the monitoring of existing clients
  • Providing advice to fee-earners on AML/CTF
  • Reviewing and updating compliance policies, procedures and plans
  • Assisting with onboarding new clients
  • Assisting with internal audits
  • Running and advising on conflicts of interest
  • Conducting PEP and sanction screening
  • Assisting the Head of Compliance with ad-hoc projects when required

To be considered for this opportunity as their new Compliance Advisor, you will need to have/be the following:

  • Have a minimum of 2.5 years' experience in a Legal Risk & Compliance position (ideally 3+ years)
  • Have strong working knowledge of the SRA Code of Conduct/Regulations and Anti-Money Laundering
  • Be able to commute to the Leeds or Birmingham office on a regular basis
  • Have a strong understanding of UK GDPR/DPA
