Job Description
Our client is a prestigious and well-established law firm, able to trace its roots back to the 1800s. Over time the firm has grown its client and won several awards. With a view to building upon previous successes the firm is looking for ambitious and passionate candidates to apply.
The Junior Accounts Assistant is required to operate the day-to-day transactions of our main client account for bill receipts and a smaller client account. Under the guidance of the Legal Cashier Manager, you will be expected to meet challenging internal and external banking deadlines. A high degree of flexibility is expected, to provide support to the team and wide firm.
Responsibilities
- Operating the daily banking transactions for the firm's client account for bill payments and one of our smaller client accounts, regularly monitoring the accounts via online banking and internal requests to ensure that all payments, receipts, and transfers are dealt with in accordance with firm processes and SRA client money guidelines.
- Preparing daily bank reconciliations to ensure that a clear and accurate bank reconciliation report is promptly produced at each month end.
- Proactively aiding the wider cashiering and credit control team particularly during busy periods and in times of absence.
- Assisting with the monitoring of the team’s email inboxes, ensuring that all requests are dealt with.
- Dealing with telephone and email requests from around the business or from clients to take payment of our invoices via credit card.
